Turkish Lamp Workshops (TLW)
Open to new and returning students This is a special workshop with a single project offered: to custom decorate and assemble an authentic Turkish mosaic lamp. The finished lamp is about 16" tall. Choose either a "Swan" (gooseneck) style, or a "Moon" style (see adjacent photos). You are provided all of the lamp parts, including a glass globe, and a generous supply of pre-cut colored glass pieces and beads. Nancy will provide several example patterns to choose from, or you may compose your own. After your glass globe has been decorated, the glass adhesive needs to cure overnight. Then you may choose to grout your decorated globe, either the next day, or at an Open Studio. The first part of the workshop is Saturday, 10 am - 2 pm. Materials, instruction, Turkish tea, and Saturday lunch are included in the cost ($150). This also includes the option to return Sunday (or to an Open Studio) for grouting your lamp globe. $20 deposit to reserve a seat. Remainder of workshop fee is payable the day of the workshop at The Mosaic Gardens (Venmo, Zelle, cash or check). Note: if you are not already receiving our quarterly emailed newsletter, please go to the Contact page. Scheduled workshops & open studios are listed in each newsletter. Sat. & Sunday, June 8 & 9, 2024
Saturday 10 am - 2 pm & Sunday 1 pm - 3 pm Cancellation policy: your deposit will be refunded if you cancel at least 2 days prior to the workshop date, or your workshop deposit can be moved to another date. In the rare case that enrollment for a workshop is less than the minimum needed, the workshop would be canceled, and another workshop date can be chosen, or the Mosaic Gardens will refund the deposit in the same manner that it was initially received.
