Hands On Mosaic Garden Marker Workshop Limited to 8 students / workshop At the garden marker workshop you will create a beautiful mosaic marker using pre-cut ceramics and stained glass. This workshop is perfect for beginners wanting to learn how to mosaic without buying all the tools and supplies necessary to get started with mosaics. You will take home a lovely finished mosaic garden marker to enjoy in your garden, planter or special outdoor space. Workshop Fee: $50/person (includes instructional & materials fee) Materials provided include: 6" x 6" backing, 24" or 36" iron stake, mosaic materials (glass & ceramics), grout, adhesive, sealer. Workshop start to finish: approx. 3 hours Group workshops at your home or organization can also be scheduled. *This workshop is intended for ages 12+ since we will be working with glass. On-going Mosaic Classes Discover the joy and beauty of mosaic art in the pique assiette tradition. Pique assiette, or "broken plates," incorporates a wonderful blending of color, form and texture. This mosaic folk art can be found in many cultures and is popular today as a way to recycle a favorite piece of china or broken heirloom. Work under the guidance of Mosaic Artist and Teacher, Nancy Meyer to complete an unique mosaic art piece from shards of china, ceramic or glass. You will learn the techniques of planning, breaking, cutting, setting, grouting, and sealing ceramic and glass. Students are encouraged to bring ceramic plates, bowls, cups or anything else that you would like to include in your custom mosaic art piece. You will select the project you want to create at your first visit to my studio. This is a great way to start since everything will be supplied for you at your next visit. Examples of mosaic projects include: mosaic mirror, mosaic welcome or address sign, mosaic tabletop.
